Tippmann Cronus Paintball Gun

Tippmann Cronus Paintball Gun

The Tippmann Cronus, Tippmann's latest entry-level marker, is an easy to use, reliable and affordable choice for many paintballers. If you're just getting into the sport of paintball and you're considering what your first marker you should be, you really cant go wrong with a Cronus. The solid construction Tippmann is famous for will keep your marker firing in all sorts of environmental conditions, and in the rare occasions when maintenance is necessary, it is simple enough that even new players should have no trouble learning how to take care of it. Although the Cronus is marketed more towards players just starting to play paintball. There are a variety of features that make this marker quite viable, not to mention fun for paintballers of all experience levels.

Out of the box the marker comes with a ported barrel that is A5 threaded, which is one of the most commonly available threads and offers an almost endless number of aftermarket barrel options. A mock suppressor with a front iron sight is also included, and it can be easily removed for times when it is necessary to remove the barrel for cleaning. The receiver of the marker is equipped with picatinny rails on the top, bottom, and sides, to allow mounting of accessories like grips, optics, flashlights, etc. Included in the box are a rail mounted foregrip and a rail mounted M4 style carry handle/iron sight. There is also an optional collapsible stock. On top of all the major accessories, there are little things that are included that show a nice attention to detail. The front sight on the mock suppressor is removable, and there is a small replacement piece to fill in the gap on the suppressor from the missing sight. If players choose not to use the collapsible stock, there is an included end cap that covers the stock mounting point. All of these options make the Cronus an incredibly customizable marker out of the box, and its two-tone tan/black or green/black colour combo gives it a unique look compared to the vast majority of scenario markers which are almost exclusively black.

Considering you get all this for $129.99, and you can understand why the Cronus has found its way into many paintballers' arsenals. The internal design of the marker is built on the tried, tested and true Tippmann 98 Custom. Anyone who has used a98 Custom, or any of the other markers derived from its design (Bravo One/Alpha Black, Sierra One, Carver One, etc.) knows how much punishment they can take and keep shooting. The Cronus is no exception. The rugged outer construction can handle almost any external punishment you can throw at it, and the internals are simple and easy to maintain. Players that have experience with cleaning and repairing 98 Customs or any other 98 based marker will find that maintenance of a Cronus is largely the same.

One thing that sets the Cronus apart from the other 98 Custom derivatives is the ergonomics of its design, and just how comfortable it is to hold and use. The contoured rubber grip is easy to keep a grip on even if its wet with paint or rain, and it's slim enough to accommodate younger players with smaller hands. Add to that the adjustable stock and optional foregrip or other grip options, and players of all sizes will be able to comfortably use this marker.

The solid construction, proven internal design, endless customization options, unique look and affordable price tag make the Tippmann Cronus a marker with fantastic value, and it will no doubt be a popular choice amongst paintballers for years to come.
