HK Army TFX Loader

The HK TFX is arguably one of the most impressive products to be released this year, it is a brand new addition to HK Army’s growing product lineup. Though the HK TFX is a new player in the high-end loader game, it comes packed with tons of interesting features that are going to allow it to compete with the best loaders on the market. One of the first things players will notice it’s lightweight, low profile design. The low profile minimizes the chance of catching a hit off your loader, as well as minimizing how much of your view is blocked by the loader. It is worth noting the TFX doesn't need to sacrifice capacity in order to achieve this reduced profile. The loaders capacity is approximately 215 paintballs, made possible in part due to a spring loaded “elevator” in the front. When the loader is full, the elevator is pushed down by the weight of the paintballs, and around 20 paintballs fill the space it occupied. When the hopper is nearly empty, the elevator is pushed back up by the springs underneath it. Those last remaining paintballs are pushed up out of the cavity so they can be fed into the marker. This elevator allows the loader to take advantage of all the available space and fit the maximum number of paintballs inside.

The TFX is completely waterproof and runs on two AA batteries. According to HK it can fire approximately thirty thousand paintballs before the batteries need to be changed. An interesting feature designed to save battery life is a small paddle inside the loader that disconnects the battery when a paintball is in the feed neck, ready to be fed into the marker. When the marker is fired and the paintball that was resting on the paddle drops into the marker, the paddle is released and the loader turns back on to feed the next paintball. This means that when you are not firing, the loader is not turned on, and is not depleting battery life.

The drive that feeds the paintballs, called the Swoop Stack by HK, comes with an interesting anti-jam feature that helps dislodge jammed paintballs without breaking them. In the event of a jam, the Swoop Stack will agitate back and forth until the paintball is jostled loose, and then it will resume feeding. The force of the push against a jammed ball is adjustable. A fabulous feature when paintballs become brittle with age or cold. Even if a ball were to break inside the loader, disassembling and cleaning it is a quick and painless process thanks to the completely tool-less disassembly. For cleaning or changing the batteries, it takes under 30 seconds to completely disassemble the loader and access the battery compartment. Switching from the included lid to a Speed Feed lid is also a quick and tool-less procedure.

One more feature that is unique to the TFX compared to other loaders is the padded hard case that is included with it. The case has a foam lined spot for the loader, as well as a mesh pocket for a Speed Feed or spare batteries. Many players like to have a hard case to protect things like markers and masks, why not your loader. HK will also be selling the hard cases separately, so its safe to assume many players who use other brands of loaders will be purchasing these protective cases.

With the combination of the anti-jam Swoop Stack, tension control, tool-less disassembly, protective case, and all the other included features, its easy to see why the HK TFX will be a major contender in the loader market, and why so many players are so eager to get their hands on one.
